Mike Sarraille: And like, you know, before I could get it together, it was really, it was really difficult. Um Right. And the problem with therapy now, as I think people just use it as a crutch. I think that our, as, as human beings, we need purpose. John Rzeznik: They're like, I've never had this and now I belong to this, this group, regardless if they're a criminal organization or, or, or, or nonprofit. Its better to just lay back and do what Im good at, which is play music and be part of peoples lives, if only in a small way.. I was like, Okay, this is not going to happen and I had to get lawyers involved., No, I didnt have to move but I did! Rzeznik laughs. And we had, wherever there was a swimming pool, I would, I would throw myself into the deep end of the pool, but I would always have my hand against the wall. Yeah. So I felt as though I needed to, I felt the only path for me to get over this fear was to move through it and get to the other side of it. It turned out to be one of the strongest rainstorms of the year in Buffalo, but the Goo Goo Dolls did not stop playing. John Rzeznik: So you better get over this fear. You know, and, and quite literally they did. John Rzeznik: Mike Sarraille: John Rzeznik: But we, I mean, we have seen, but it's also, you know, so I've got a good clinical psychologist friend who says, you know, mental health issues have increased exponentially since World War ii. John Rzeznik: Um, you know, and, and, and when you are going to fails, but you just keep going. I felt we were about to head into a very crazy time that wed never experienced. So I had, I had a reason to talk to every pretty girl in the bar. Mike Sarraille: And they may reject me. Joahn Rzeznik is the founding member. There's a lot we can learn from each other that, that, you know, I'm, I, you know, I. Mike Sarraille: It's like my manager with all good intentions, my manager, the other guys in my band, they tried to sort of, um, set up a scenario where I could function and produce in a very controlled environment. Yeah. John Rzeznik: Um, Australia, if people wanna find the dates in locations where, where to go is at Google. We read all of 'em, That's how we get better. I will say that post-traumatic stress can lead to growth, though post traumatic growth. Yeah. The band received early success with the single "Name" as well as being featured in Freddy's Dead: The Final Nightmare with the song "I'm Awake Now". That's my tribe, you know? I, and I mean that with all authenticity whatsoever, man, I wish we had three or four hours, uh, sitting down in person cuz we could keep going. We didn't have any money. We step on the planes every day and it's almost like pilot, I hope you're well trained and do your job well. I'm like, I love you guys, but this is bullshit and I'm not doing it. I, I think, yeah, I think I, I think our, our lives were just, just going in different directions, but we were getting further and further apart and there was always a great still the love, there was a lot of love and we stayed friends for a long time, um, after that. And I think a lot of the solutions, I was, I was reading an article about a guy in Laos, okay? So I, I couldn't agree with you more. And, and I mean, we remain professional and tactful, but, uh, there is a difference between love and liking. All, Yeah, yeah. That was, that was probably the hardest decision I had ever had to make. Last and brother, I have no doubt that she will, if you continue to give her advice like that is have your dream, but you gotta work for it.
